Visiting Christine NTAHE at her home in NGAGARA, Q2, the Rotary Club Kigobe 2012 was greeted by the cheers of more than fifty destitute children cared for by this brave lady.
Happy Ntwari, president of the Rotary Club Kigobe 2012, said: "We are making this donation of school supplies to support "Mother Sunday," to encourage these underprivileged children to study, and above all, to ensure they don't fall behind due to a lack of school supplies."

In her speech, Christine Ntahe seemed touched: "I thank you so much for thinking of these children; it's a sign that you have a warm heart for vulnerable people."

This donation is in line with this year's RCK 2012 theme: "Giving of yourself to the world." This donation consists of notebooks, pens, colored pencils, pencils, and math boxes.

According to Ms. Christine NTAHE, the children are doing very well at school: "I was surprised to see them among the top of the class. This encouraged me to mobilize and motivate them to study," she adds.

Nicknamed "Mother Sunday," Christine NTAHE is a generous and brave woman who has devoted herself body and soul to helping and supporting the most disadvantaged children in Bujumbura for 15 years.

The nickname "Mother Sunday" comes from her habit of feeding the most disadvantaged children (street children) every Sunday. After noticing that these children had the aptitude and ambition to study, despite their alarming poverty, Mother Sunday enrolled them in various schools and regularly monitors them as if they were her own children, even though she does not provide them with accommodation.
